The Club's Education Foundation was established in 1994 to teach young people in the Memphis area about the splendor and scientific wonders in the forest and the importance of the forest products industry. Truth About Trees (see video) educational materials provide students and teachers fun ways to learn about the industry and squash myths concerning trees.
By working with other Memphis organizations including 4-H, Hardwood Forest Foundation, Agricenter International and The University of Tennessee, the Lumbermen's Club participates in a variety of educational outreach programs. Some of these include biannual tree plantings at local schools, sponsoring of 4-H competition teams, work in outdoor classrooms and multi-state teacher workshops-which provide continuing education credits through The University of Tennessee. All of these programs are funded by the Club and its partners.
